VMI-AZ launches the iCOM® continuous mixing process
VMI-AZ Extrusion GmbH has developed a superior final mixing process using transfer-mix single screw extruder mixing technology in conjunction with a gear pump. The total output control of VMI-AZ’s iCOM® system is provided by the volumetric operating gear pump while the final mixing is accomplished by the transfer-mix extruder. Thanks to the variable screw speed of the transfer-mix extruder, mixing parameters can be easy optimized for each compound with chemical dosing provided by a gravimetric loss-in-weight feeder.  Furthermore, VMI-AZ’s new cold feed iCOM® process reduces the 1st stage mixing variations by blending several batches together at the same time.  Therefore, the iCOM® increases capacity on the internal mixer, while improving quality and reducing mixing costs.

iCOM® systems are available in output mixing capacities of 200 kg per hour up to 4500 kg per hour (based on a compound specific gravity of about 1.1).
